An Atlantic City man has been found guilty of illegally possessing a gun.
On Thursday, 21-year-old John Stephens was sentenced to five years in prison. He must serve three and a half years to be eligible for parole.
The sentence will run alongside a three-and-a-half-year prison sentence he also received earlier this year for illegal possession of a handgun.
On January 10th of this year, Stevens and Carlos García Perez were stopped by plainclothes detectives near Block 1500 of Atlantic Avenue in Atlantic City. Both men were reportedly found carrying guns concealed in their bodies.

The gun turned out to be a 9mm Taurus G2C handgun, although Stevens did not have a permit for this gun.
Garcia Perez’s lawsuit is still pending.
