BUFFALO, NY — The American Dairy Association works hard each summer to ensure that students in the Buffalo area have access to a free summer meal program.
The Summer Meal Program was established to ensure that children continue to receive nutritious meals during school holidays and is free for children under 18.
Tuesday, July 18, from 11:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Riverside Park in the City of Buffalo, by the park’s pool and playground.
Attractive attendees handing out lunches at the event include former Buffalo Bills running back Thurman Thomas and local dairy farmer Lisa Mesh, who brings a cow to meet her children.
Children will also have the opportunity to participate in various exercises and activities at the event.
Funded through the USDA, the Free Summer Meals program provides children with nutritious breakfasts and lunches that include milk, yogurt, cheese, fruits, vegetables, and grains.
