Halloween in July?
I’ve always said that summer should officially start in mid-May.It’s kind of unfair that the sun starts to rise on only the second day of summer short again.
We have at least a few weeks to prepare for the favourites. That’s why I believe May 15th is the perfect target date.
Anyway, that’s the story.

In fact, once Independence Day passes and the Saratoga horse racing season begins, summer in the metropolitan area flies by. Some people, myself included, may not be ready for August, let alone September or October.

But at least a few stores in the greater Tokyo area are clearing shelves to make room for Halloween-themed items such as candies, costumes and decorations.

Below, a colleague told GNA that two Latham stores, PC/Market Bistro and Marshall’s, had already cleared space for decorations and candy on their shelves three and a half months before Halloween. This is part of the image that was just taken.

I always thought that after Labor Day weekend would be a good time for stores to start selling tricks and treats, but it seems like stores are feeling differently.
So when will people start buying Halloween merchandise?
According to a recent survey by the National Retail Federation, more than a third of consumers will start shopping for Halloween merchandise “in September or earlier.”
