If you are my generation (baby boomers), what do you think of when you hear the word “go-kart”?
Two things come to mind for most of us. First, living in a rural rural area, it was normal for us to have (or know someone with) a go-kart. I don’t remember which store actually sold it, but I do remember some friends having one and running around farms and fields with it. No, maybe it was a homemade go-kart. I don’t remember it very well.
Another thing that reminds me of is the go-kart race that I got to see up close when the County Fair came to town. And the demolition derby was a big hit at the fairs of my youth.
Well, I’m here to tell you that go-kart racing has entered a whole new world. This gallery features about 10 great tracks from upstate New York.They’re modern, exciting, and fast (some you up to 45 mph), challenging. And they are so much fun.
As you can see, all trucks come with a wealth of safety features. And they are all welcome, even the youngest drivers, to come and take care of their ‘need for speed’. Courses are available from the age of 10.
Go-kart racing is very popular for group events, family vacation highlights, special dates, party occasions and even corporate challenges.
