BUFFALO, NY — Feeling Rock is a program created to teach children under the age of five how to feel and deal with emotions through music.
Founder Katie Webster said she started the class to provide music therapy in an accessible way to families and caregivers.
“We can tell them how they feel right now and make them understand some techniques they can use to manage their emotions, which will help them in the long run.”

“We can also weave in fine motor, cognition, speech and language. We do it all through music and movement and being together.”
Parents and guardians alike say that these classes teach children how to deal with strong emotions, and that children seem reluctant to leave when classes are over.
