BUFFALO, NY — Funeral arrangements for Clara “Claire” Gomez have been announced.
She was killed Tuesday night after being hit by a vehicle in a car chase near Main Street and West Utica Street.
Claire’s wake will be held on June 2 from 9 am to noon at the Lombardo Funeral Home at 102 Lynnwood Avenue.
Her funeral will be held at St. Matthew’s Cemetery shortly after her incarceration.
Erie County District Attorney John Flynn said, “We are still trying to figure out what caused the first car chase.”
Marlon Severance Jr., 22, was arrested and charged with second-degree possession of a weapon and first-degree reckless endangerment charges.
Flynn said Gomez was familiar with his office and the Buffalo Police Department.
“Frankly, she’s actually the kind of person I want to bring justice to,” Flynn said. “Individuals who are marginalized and on the margins of the lives we live here are just as important as queens, honor students and CEOs.”
