New York state has a brand new rest stop
In 2021, renovation work will begin on a rest stop along one of New York State’s largest highways. This summer, Interstate 90 was completely redesigned with a number of new rest stops for travelers. It’s part of his $450 million project, which is nearly complete.
What is the meaning of resting place?
New York State isn’t the only state offering rest stops for passing travelers. The aim is to keep them refreshed and rested so they can be safer on the road. Many of them offer restaurants where you can grab a bite to eat or grab a cup of coffee to refuel. Most have a small gift shop and a place to sit. And of course there are toilets.
People are not happy with the new design
Although the new rest house has been open for less than a year, it has already received many concerns and complaints about one major design flaw.
The problem with the new stop is the size of the restrooms. As more and more people drive across New York for the summer, they are finding there are not enough toilets for people to use.
When you stop at a rest stop, some people want to do their thing and then get back on the road. The last thing they want to do is wait in line to go to the bathroom (in any case, it’s entirely possible they waited a while before deciding to stop!).
The comments on this post seemed to echo that sentiment.
