A new memorial foundation was established in memory of the late Buffalo firefighter Jason Arno, who lost his life fighting the fire at 745 Main Street in Buffalo’s Theater District in March of this year.
The Firefighter Arno Memorial (FAM) Foundation, founded by Arno’s family and a group of close friends, said it was “committed to recognizing the tremendous contributions of the first responder community and honoring their courage.” there is Their mission is to provide resources, financial support and opportunities to first responders and their families in western New York State by raising funds and increasing community awareness of their daily efforts.
The Foundation also announced a FAM Cookout & Volleyball Tournament to celebrate Arno’s life and all WNY First Responders on Sunday, August 27 at Holidays Sports Bar & Volleyball. In addition to backyard games and raffle prizes, the event will feature live music from the Nerds Gone Wild, beer from his tent, cooking from Chiavetta’s Chicken, sandwiches from his volleyball tournament, and more.
