parting words: So much for the fun stuff. “Real Housewives of New York City” star Jenna Lyons doesn’t roll out a welcome mat to visitors to her office, but she does have a banner with sharp words.
The story goes that when Oxford Pennant co-founder Dave Horesh met Lyons at his New York office, she said, Can you see the elevator? I want a banner that says ‘Get the F–k Out’ on it. ’ Within weeks, she had the adornment, thanks to a Buffalo-based company that specializes in hand-stitched wool pennants. Online shoppers can purchase $250 items on the Oxford Pennant e-commerce site.

At least, that’s what the company’s publicists advertised, along with a picture of the Lions standing under the new banner. As the latest installment of “The Real Housewives of New York City,” Ryans may need strong words to get rid of her fellow reality stars in upcoming episodes of the Bravo series.
A bespectacled fashion insider, Lyons is widely associated with her previous position as executive creative director at J. Crew, but she quit that role in 2017 to pursue other ventures, including launching her natural false eyelash line Love Scene and working as an interior designer for The Expert.
Oxford Pennant was founded in 2013 by Horesh Micol and Brett Micol, who met while traveling and bonded over a nostalgia for pennants. Knowing how pennants have been a keepsake for over a century, they also recognized how cheap overseas production had made them “low-quality souvenirs.”
Initially, the founders had a motive to revive domestic production of pennants to finance beer. After handling logistics nights and weekends in the early days, the founders later set up a Buffalo-based business where he designs, manufactures and ships products from one location. All pennants, flags and banners are made in the USA.
The Oxford Pennant, which has worked with J.Crew in the past, has a history with the Lions alma mater, so to speak. Starting in 2016 with limited edition dormitory-style pennants, the collaboration was announced three years later. Oxford Pennants has worked with J. Crew’s design and product teams to create an Americana-inspired line featuring his t-shirts, co-branded camp flags and pennants with illustrations of bald eagles, strong men and pin-ups.
