BUFFALO, NY (WIVB) — Hosted by the Sabers at the LECOM Harbor Center, the 8th Annual Prospect Challenge will run September 15-18, the team announced Tuesday.
Prospects from the Boston Bruins, Montreal Canadiens, New Jersey Devils, Ottawa Senators and Pittsburgh Penguins join the Sabers in a round-robin format. Competitors will be announced at a later date.
Buffalo won all three of last year’s Prospects Challenge with first-round draft picks Matt Savoie, Isaac Rosen and Ili Klich.
Prior to Buffalo’s game against New Jersey on September 16, players and alumni will attend the Sabers Fan Fest featuring special programming and live music.
Tickets for the Prospectus Challenge will go on sale in August with priority for season ticket members.

Buffalo on Monday renewed forward Linus Weissbach to a $775,000 two-way deal for next season. The 25-year-old finished fourth last season with the Rochester Americans scoring 47 points (20 goals, 27 assists) in 69 regular-season games. He has three goals and seven assists in 12 Calder Cup playoff appearances. Buffalo, a 2017 seventh-round pick, has scored 84 points in 136 games over the last two seasons.
